• Alun is a former mental health nurse who lives right in the middle of the new council ward.
• He is the Mayor of Aberystwyth for 2021-22, plays an active role in a range of local voluntary groups and regularly leads community litter-picks.

Why vote for Alun?

"As you may know, I’ve been county councillor for Bronglais ward for many years.

For this election the three county council areas of Bronglais, North and Central wards are being merged to form a single ward with two representatives,  called Aberystwyth Morfa a Glais. 

As someone who loves Aberystwyth and is always positive about the town and our key position within Wales I’m very keen to continue working for local residents as representative for the new ward.

Alun's achievements and priorities

Alun has been the County Council’s Sustainability Champion for the last two council terms, leading the Council’s success in reducing carbon emissions and tackling climate change.

Over the years he has worked successfully for:

• The introduction of kerbside recycling collections, including glass.
• New and improved routes for pedestrians, cyclists and wheelchair users
• Improvements to the town’s green spaces like Parc Natur Penglais and in North Road.
• Road safety and reduced speed limits.

He has used his health experience to strongly support Bronglais Hospital, chairing the Ceredigion branch of the Community Health Council and serving as a Cabinet Member for social care.

He knows the town’s economic future lies in supporting both our small businesses and public sector organisations like the hospital, the university and the National Library.

Alun always thinks positively and is a real champion for our wonderful town.
