During the autumn term the County Council consulted on the closure of four rural schools.
The statutory consultation has now been suspended by the Council and converted to an informal one. The understanding is that the consultation will have to be fully redone if the schools are to be closed in future. For now, therefore, the statutory process has been suspended.
Thank you to the many of you who have been in touch to voice concerns about the future of Ysgol Craig yr Wylfa, Ysgol Llanfihangel y Creuddyn, Ysgol Llangwyryfon, and Ysgol Syr John Rhys.
Ben and Elin are very supportive of these rural schools and fully realise the importance of local schools and the benefits they bring to the pupils, staff, Welsh language and community. Elin and Ben met with the Governors of each of the schools, and will be ready in the new year to discuss again with the Council as they consider the future of these schools.
