Why vote for Clive?

"I would like to put myself forward to represent the people of the Penparc and Aberporth ward in this year’s May election in Ceredigion.

I have strong roots within the ward, born in Cardigan, parents lived in Blaenanerch then Ferwig before settling in Llangoedmor.

During my student years at college and university graduating in Information Technology, I worked at the then R.A.E. Aberporth aswell a the jeans factory in Cardigan , know as “Slimma” . Currently I have been supporting the formation of new businesses and the use of new technologies to help towns across Wales make informed decisions.

My community involvement in recent years include chairing Hen Ysgol y Ferwig community, now fully refurbished after a successful lottery bid , school governor of the two local schools of Penparc and Llechryd, chairing the flood resilience group formed in the Llechryd area. I’m also member of the Penparc community speed watch team, volunteer director of 4CG who support new businesses and provide low cost parking in Cardigan town as part of its objectives. Trustee of Cardigan Castle a major heritage site within our local town, Trustee of the Ceredigion Citizens Advice who providing advice and guidance to those who need it in these difficult times.

As a Cardigan Town councillor for the past 10 years, in 2016-17 and 2020-21 I was elected mayor. During my time I managed to implemented a number of projects to support the town including  new events such as the lantern parade, refurbishment of Cardigan Skatepark , creation of a town App and town Wifi scheme, one of the first in Wales, new town maps, provide additional defibrillators and signage and promotional work to encourage footfall to visit Cardigan. My last project in 2021 was the refurbishment of the King George V playing fields.

In 2017 I was elected Ceredigion councillor for the Penparc ward which included Llangoedmor and Llechryd, during this time as well as supporting casework within the ward, became the chair of the licensing committee and digital champion for the county , supporting the efforts being made for fibre broadband across the county.

In 2018,I attended the award ceremony in London to receive the Great British High Street award for Cardigan which won the Wales rising star award.

In 2019, I was awarded by Plaid Cymru as the most active Councillor across Wales.

It would be an honour to represent the people within the Penparc and Aberporth ward in the county council, and I ask for your vote on the 5th of May."
