Last week Elin Jones MS joined other Plaid Cymru Members and NFU Cymru to celebrate Welsh Farming Week with the launch of the NFU’s election manifesto.
The NFU’s Welsh farming: Growing Forward manifesto document sets out a series of key priorities that they are asking Senedd Members and election candidates to focus on.
Food production is the central core of the document, that seeks a comprehensive farm to fork food strategy and policies that support the future of Welsh food production.
Elin Jones MS said: "It was great to be able to attend the launch of NFU Cymru’s manifesto in the Senedd. The agriculture industry is the backbone of our rural communities and food production in Wales.
Growing Forward sets out a series of excellent challenges for us all, and I wholeheartedly support the NFU Cymru as they keep agriculture and farming priorities at the top of the Welsh Government’s agenda. Farming and agriculture, particularly in counties such as Ceredigion, are a vital part of our economy, culture and Welsh language that we must protect at all costs.”
