• Retired after working in theatres at Bronglais General Hospital.
• Former Chair of Ceredigion County Council.

Why vote for Gareth?

"Once again I am asking for your support as I stand as a Plaid Cymru candidate in the Llanbadarn Fawr Ward in the Ceredigion County Council election on the 5th of May 2022.

It has been an honour and a privilege to represent you on the Council since 2004. During this time I have done my best to represent the residents of Llanbadarn Fawr and to ensure that the village and its needs are given the necessary priority.

Because of the Covid 19 pandemic the last two and a half years have been very challenging for all of us and we have suffered a number of restrictions on our lives. I have raised my concerns about the role of the Council in the operation of some of these restrictions. I have also dealt with a number of matters such as planning applications, the safety of pedestrians and road users as well as speed limits, public footpaths including dog fouling, ensuring sufficient resources for the Ambulance Service and challenging the Council budget.

I am very eager to continue to be a strong, enthusiastic, energetic and effective councillor who will always prioritise the needs of the residents of Llanbadarn Fawr. If I am re-elected I will continue to inform you about events and developments in the ward.

Gareth's priorities

"The increase in traffic is causing problems throughout the village and I am worried about the safety of pedestrians, especially children and the elderly. I will continue to fight to ensure everyone is safe and I will lobby the Welsh Government to introduce speed limit measures throughout the village. I will continue to support a by-pass for Llanbadarn Fawr.

I will ensure that planning matters are treated with sensitivity and common sense and I will represent the needs of residents with fairness.

If I am re-elected I will continue to keep in touch with residents by means of the regular newsletters I have been distributing during the last eighteen years, bulletins and e-mail."
