The Welsh Government has announced a £600,000 grant to the National Eisteddfod to support the use of the Welsh language in our communities.
The news comes at a time where there were concerns for the additional costs that will arise due to inflation, rising costs and the pandemic, as additional Covid 19 measures will be needed to ensure safety on the Maes.
Elin Jones AS said: ‘This is excellent news for the National Eisteddfod in Ceredigion 2022. As the Executive Chair for the event in Ceredigion, I am fully aware of the challenges the organisers will have to overcome this year, and this additional support is much appreciated.
We all truly need an event such as the Eisteddfod to look forward to this year, and we can now ensure that the National Eisteddfod in Tregaron will be a fantastic celebration of our language and culture this August.’
