Elin Jones, Assembly Member for Ceredigion, has been discussing the details of the direct bus from Aberystwyth to Cardiff, which will be re-established after a few months without a service.

The previous service, the 701, came to an end a few months ago, and since then Elin Jones has been campaigning for it to be reinstated. It is now expected to start on the 5th of December, 2016 as follows:

The bus will leave Aberystwyth at 7.40 am and arrive in Cardiff at 12.15 pm.

It will leave Cardiff at 16.40 and reach Aberystwyth at 21.24 at night.

Elin Jones AM said:

“I am delighted to say that this vital service between Aberystwyth and Cardiff is to be re-established, a large number of constituents have missed it.

“The previous Service was a commercial bus without subsidy, but the new bus service will fall under the umbrella of the Welsh Government’s TrawsCymru service.

“The newly renamed T1C will restart on the 5th of December. There will be one service to Cardiff and back a day, between Monday and Saturday, and it will be a free to pensioners and those with Concessionary Fare Cards.

“There is currently no planned direct bus service on Sundays, but in 6 months the Government will review the service to ensure it runs effectively, so I would like to encourage everyone, at that time, to participate in the process of gathering views on the service and its schedule.”

More information will be available soon on the TrawsCymru website.
