Elin Jones calls for new law to guarantee range of services at Bronglais
Ceredigion Plaid Cymru candidate Elin Jones has put forward the bold proposal to enshrine in law the services that should be provided by full District General Hospitals such as Bronglais.
An important day for the NHS in Ceredigion
On Thursday, 24 March, the Health Minister visited Ceredigion to launch two new initiatives.
In the morning, at Aberystwyth Unviersity, the Centre for Excellence in Rural Healthcare was launched, which will help the Mid-Wales Collaborative build links with professional bodies and specialist researchers in planning our future NHS. In the afternoon, the Minister visited Tregaron to launch the Cylch Caron project, which will bring together hospital, residential care, primary care and a range of other functions in one modern building.
A fair deal for people with dementia
Elin Jones has backed the Alzheimer’s Society’s campaign for a fair deal for people with dementia, as figures reveal that there are over 1,217 people in Ceredigion who have the condition. Elin has with representatives of the Alzheimers Society, and discussed their ‘45000 Reasons’ campaign for a comprehensive dementia strategy in Wales.
Plaid Cymru has firm plans to phase out social care charges for people with dementia.
