Local MP Ben Lake will be wearing a hat on Friday, 26 March, in support of Brain Tumour Research. #WearAHatDay was created by Brain Tumour Research, and is the UK's largest and most famous national brain tumour awareness and fundraising campaign.
Ben Lake MP explained:
"I’m proud to be supporting Brain Tumour Research on Friday for #WearAHatDay.
"Research into brain tumours receives less than 1% of national cancer research spending in the UK yet this devastating disease, with which over 16,000 people are diagnosed each year, kills more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
"I am hoping that by wearing a hat and making a donation to the charity on the 26th March we will be helping fund the scientists who are investigating to find more effective treatments and ultimately a cure."
